Take a ruler (or a piece of 8 1/2 by 11 paper) and put it 3 feet in front of
you. Holding your hand at arms length, measure how many "fingers" it takes up.
Now move it to 6 feet and see how many "fingers" it takes up. How many
fingers do you think it will take if it was 12 feet away?
Does everyone in the group get the same measurements?
Looking at the ruler on the board, estimate how far away it is!
(For "extra credit", figure out how many fingers it takes to go around a
full circle, and convert your "fingers" measurements to degrees!)
