The Quasar Absorption Line - Galaxy Evolution Group

Studying the Baryon Cycle and the Evolution of Galaxies

We are a collaborative group of the Astronomy Departments at New Mexico State University, Penn State, and Swinburne University of Techonology (Australia). We are engaged in research using the technique of quasar absorption lines to study the kinematic, ionization, and chemical conditions of gas associated with intermediate and high redshift galaxies and simulations to understand the general evolution of galaxies. Our goals are to contribute to the growing body of knowledge of the role of gas in galaxy formation and evolution. For the public, we have published An Overview of Our Science.
